I had hair and a five year plan.
I could run a mile in under 6 minutes.
My friends were all young.
My waist was 33 inches.
Toe fungus happened to others.
I took no prescription drugs.
Women undressed me with their eyes.
My ears were hairless.
My parents were in the next room.
I could change a tire without grunting.
I had grandparents.
I remembered where I put everything.
I could drive for miles.
Listen for more than a minute.
I trusted my government, cops, teachers.
priests, coaches and bankers.
A second ago I wrote poems that rhymed.
I didn't need caffeine or a massage.
I had all kinds of time to create
and never contemplated cremation.
A second ago you looked at me differently.
